You have learned about the Great Depression and it's effects on American life during the 1930s. In your readings you have learned about programs such as the New Deal which helped to get us out of the depression. Currently America is facing a recession that is similarly hurting Americans and American businesses. FDR implemented ideas that changed our government into a Social Democracy. These ideas such as welfare and social security are still around and still help Americans out. My question to you is, what can we do to get us out of this recession? Should we bring back some more of the New Deal programs we had in the 30s? There is no quick fix for this problem but there are ideas out there that can aid in making our economy stable again. Give me your ideas and opinions.

I think that people should keep on living life like they had to keep up the cycle or cut down the spending if it is hurting their finacials. For people suffering without jobs should get government funding or the government should help them with housing and with free food like in the 30's. If things still are going badly than some New deal programs from the 30's should be re-instated to help them start up.-Chris Wu
