Homework Blog # 7

In recent news, long time Mayor of Albuquerque Martin Chavez was defeated by Richard Berry in the 2009 Mayoral Election. Mr. Berry stated that he has a lot of new plans for the Duke City."We're going to work on transportation, we're going to work on infrastructure. Try to get some of those dollars back for quality-of-life projects. And we're going to really crack down on crime," Berry said. With that said, what would you like to see done here in Albuquerque that you feel will improve quality of life and make the city better overall?

  1. I would like to see a better clean up program so that our streets and sidewals are cleaner. I would also like to see a better controll on the drug and gang problem, there is no reason that we shouldn't put some more attention on crime in Ablubuquerque. I think that we should still continue our work on drunk driving in the city area but now we need to do more about crime.

  2. I would say that of all the issues i want to see dealt with is the gang shootings and all the shootings in general. Even though we have a tone of DWI check points in New Mexico, some drunk drivers still slip passed them. Some convicted drunk drivers get to keep thier license even after thier third offense.

  3. I would like to see less crime in Albuqueruqe. There is a lot of crime in this area and I think they should focus on gangs, drugs, DWI, etc... I would also like to see better streets. Although a lot of streets have been fixed and made better there are still a lot of streets that need repair.
