Today marks the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States of America. Some of you may have witnessed the attacks live on television and most of you saw the devastation later on that day. Some of you may have had family or friends who were in New York or Arlington and witnessed this first hand. Either way this was a very tragic event that will live in in world history forever. With that said, Do you think that the correct precautions have been taken by the US government to protect it's citizen from future attack? Please answer in a short paragraph.

I don't think that the right precautions have been used to protect the citizens of the United States. We are over in Iraq fighting a war that is not ours and the Government says that this could take 50 years? I don't think so, it would help our Economy if we weren't fighting the war in Iraq. I know that their own Government isn't doing anything so if we leave they might actuelly start doing something. Besides the Terorists don't only live in Iraq and our defences are down real low over here in the US so we need to bring our men home and defend ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the right precautions have been used to protect the people of the united states from now on. However, I do not feel that during 9 11 we were protected at all. I also think that 9/11 was sort of a "Wake Up Call" to our president to make sure that the citizens are protected so that nothing of the sort of attacks will happen to united states citizens anymore. OUR MILITARY IS THE AWESOMEST!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the government has always done its best to protect American citizen. No one expects something as awful as 9/11 to happen, and it's hard to defend a country when no one knows how terrorists will attack. Now that they have done 9/11 they're not going to attack that same way again because we know about it now. So, yes, the government is doing a great job with airport/airline security so planes can't be attacked again, but I doubt terrorists will attack with planes again. The sad reality is that the terrorists will always be one step ahead of us, no matter how well protected we are. The only solution to the problem is to get rid of the terrorists themselves,to eliminate the terrorist mentality from society, which is practically impossible. It's sad to think that we even have to think about these things. The human race--society itself, is sick, and terrorism is just one of the symptoms.
ReplyDeleteI think that the government is diong a descent job with controlling terrorists, but like Chelsea said even though airport security has gotten extremely tight and strict, terrorists probably wont use air planes again. The scary part is that there are just so many other ways that a terrorist can attack that it seems like people cant even go out of there house. This is exactly what the terrorist want,so you either stay inside and be scared or you face every day life, get through the day and put the scary thoughts in the back of your head.
ReplyDeleteHa the government didn't even really do anything to stop the planes from attacking the USA. its clear that the terrorist outsmarted us by obviously taking EXPLOSIVES, WEAPONS, and Managed to HIJACK a airplane. if the government wanted to protect they would have told the citizens in the twin towers to get the hell out of there but of course they didn't. God forbid that anything similar like that happens again but i don't know what there future precautions are but hopefully they do there better next time... Mareon Gray
ReplyDeleteI think that the U.S Government has taken good precuations after what happened in 9/11. Even though it may be difficult to guess what a terrorist might do I think that the government is ready for another attack and is working hard on trying to make their defense stronger. And even with the good security that they have they still can attack us in other ways like dimitri says.
ReplyDeleteAt first I think that they did not had good protection on what happend on 9/11. But maybe after what happend on the 911 the had more protection on the city. They may be thinking what are terrorist planing to do. But we are no worried because we have good protection on all over the place. I think that the goverment should have alot more of protection so they could not enter the country or could not do nothing. And we would be more secured and not be worried about whats is going to happend on the future.
ReplyDeleteI think that the us has taken precosion.They know have more sicuriyi on the with house and the president. On sicret mileteri bases know shut down watever gouse over them. The us now dosent let enewon come in with out the proper paper werk. So yes i do think that they toke 911 vere siries.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the USA has taken a lot of precaution because they don't have a lot of vigilance.Maybe the terrorist may plan an attack on the anniversary of 9/11.The USA should station and interrogate the country that was responsible for this to learn more about the terrorists enabling us to take the right precautions and measurements.
ReplyDeleteI think that the U.S. government has taken the right precautions. But I still think that the US government can still do more. It's hard to predict when terrorists will strike again so we need to be prepared at all times. You never know how terrorists may attack again, maybe they'll do the same they did in 9/11 or maybe they'll use a different strategy. That's why I think that we should be prepared for any type of attack and be ready at all times.
