In New Mexico during the next two months we will be seeing a lot events taking place. Next week the burning of Zozobra will take place at our state capital. New Mexicans will spend their hard earned cash to attend the amazing NM State Fair next week as well. Tourist will flock to Albuquerque's International Balloon Fiesta in October. All of these events will bring many people to the state. With tourist flocking to this area money will be spent like crazy. This money circulates right into New Mexicans wallet. Think about it, these people will need a place to stay, places to eat, will shop for souvenirs, and pay for entertainment. Therefore, all these New Mexican companies will make money and pay their workers. Workers will then spend the money around the area as well, creating a huge monetary cycle. However, some New Mexicans think it is just a thorn in the side. They hate having to deal with traffic, waiting in lines at restaurants, and having to cater to the tourist. My question to you is, do you think that having these events in New Mexico is really helping us or is it a pain for us to deal with? Please respond in a short paragraph.

I think that is great that we are having 2 months of events. Like the burning of Zozobra that is next week, state fair and the balloom fiesta. And it is true that newmexicans are going to spend alot of money. And those events are going to bring alot of people to the state. And is not a pain for us because think about how is going to help the economy here on new mexico. But I am proud that we have all this events each year.
ReplyDeleteI think people are just always out there to find something to complain about. Hello! nothings perfect and nothing ever will! Besides its a good thing for all this money to be streaming into New Mexico, we need the money; and if you want to get rid of that because of Traffic, lines at resaurants (you know money is tight anyway you dont need to be going to restraunts), and ding your JOB by catering to the tourists. We're not going to stop these New Mexican traditions because of your petty reasons, get over it!
ReplyDeleteI am proud to live in a state with so many unique events that tourists want to attend. The number of tourists that flock to New Mexico during this time of year is a testament to how cool our New Mexican traditions are. We should also be thankful for the economic boost it brings to our state, especially in these tough economic times. If people are still willing to spend their hard earned money to take part in New Mexican events during this economice downturn, we should be more than willing to deal with traffic and long lines. Not to mention, these events are not just for tourists, they're for us native New Mexicans too! During this time of year, we get to enjoy the burning of the Zozobra, the balloon Fiesta, and the State Fair just as much as any tourist. Let's just be thankful that we live in such a great state!
ReplyDeleteI say that if people come to New Mexico to see events only here and those events give money to New Mexico than it's good for the economy but the traffic will get the civillians angry making them want the events to have less traffic. If people want better funding from the New Mexico government than they are going to have to deal with it and adapt. The events have been going on for awhile and people have been experiencing traffic for a long time and people still adapt and why should they complain now?
ReplyDeleteI think that The events that New Mexico hosts are helping us.A lot of people come to participate and watch the events for a fee.If the state adds the money all up we would probably have a fair amount. With that amount we received the state can use it for school maintenance and hospitals. It's worth going through the pain of traffic and long lines to stores and restaurants.
ReplyDeleteI think that having these events in New Mexico works to everyone's advantage in one way or another. Sure there may be a large increase in traffic and tourism, but these events in New Mexico play one of the largest roles in our state culture and are what puts us on the map. The circulation of money is always a good thing and helps many buisnesses in NM flourish, making these events in New Mexico a near necessity.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is a good idea to have these events in New mexico since it helps our economy here in New Mexico. So who cares for a little traffic and the annoying tourists just deal with it for two months and then its done then we could get on with our lives. Plus don't people say that it takes hard work to earn money? We should just ignore what goes on and have a good time in the events we have then if we do, we get money to help New Mexico. Its a win win.
ReplyDeleteI think that these events are really helping us because we need the money. I know that it might be a pain to be dealing with tourists in traffic, lines for restaurants, etc... but who cares? We need the money. I think that its really nice to have people coming from all over the nation and sometimes from all over the world to enjoy the events that New Mexico has to offer. I think that New Mexico should keep having these events because at the end every body wins!
ReplyDeleteEven though New Mexicans do have to deal with the traffic, tourists, and long lines at restarants I think that its a small price to pay for all the money that will hopefully come in and benifit new mexico
ReplyDeleteMr. Noriega,
ReplyDeleteThis is Max. I think that the State fair is both a thorn in the side and helpful to our economy. I think that the trafic jams at this time of year are a real drag because they might make me late for school but, I think that this will help the economy by encouraging spending and retail.
MR.Noriega,
ReplyDeletei think that having the state fair is a good thing for NM so people can see what a grate town this is but the trific is not the best thing in the world and i dissagree with it but the fair is fun for people to have fun and to get a good experence for little kids and for adults alike and i can't wate for it to come.
